About the Role You'll be part of a collaborative, multi-organisation effort to develop tools and services that ensure the integrity, accessibility, and preservation of research outputs. Key Responsibilities Design and implement SaaS solutions for digital preservation. Develop and integrate software services into a large-scale research infrastructure. Implement support for project-specific specifications, protocols, and data transformation. Contribute to a registry of digital preservation tools and services. Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine solutions. Advance standards and protocols for long-term digital preservation. Essential Skills Proficiency in Python, Java, or both. Experience with cloud-hosted software and REST APIs. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization. Strong skills in data/metadata transformation using JSON and XML. Agile development experience and strong collaboration skills. 2-5 years of software development experience in a commercial or research setting. Degree-level education. Desirable Skills Knowledge of digital preservation standards (e.g., OAIS, METS, PREMIS, OCFL). Experience in Research Data Management and FAIR principles.
