Test Team Lead Cardiff | Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH) Up to £65,000 Benefits About the Role We’re looking for a talented and driven Test Team Lead to join our Cardiff-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role, where you’ll shape the future of our QA function and lead a team of testers working on cutting-edge mobile and embedded technologies. As Test Team Lead, you’ll combine hands-on testing knowledge with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing QA team. You’ll play a key role in test planning, automation strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across product and development teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, driving best practices and continuous improvement. Own and evolve the test strategy across projects, ensuring high coverage and quality. Define and manage test plans , timelines, and resource allocation across projects. Champion a shift-left approach and work closely with developers, product managers, and UX designers. Oversee and contribute to the development of automated and manual test cases . Ensure high-quality releases for mobile applications and device-level systems . Report on QA metrics, release readiness, and risks to stakeholders. Technical Requirements Hands-on experience testing mobile apps and/or embedded/device-based software . Strong scripting/coding experience in one or more of the following : C, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python . Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools. Strong understanding of QA methodologies and lifecycle. ISTQB certification (preferred). What You Bring Proven experience leading or mentoring QA/test teams. A strategic mindset , with the ability to set goals and drive performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Confidence working in fast-paced, agile environments with cross-functional teams.
