Our federal government client is seeking support from a Senior Researcher with experience in design-oriented research to explore recovery processes following major weather events in Canada. This exciting project aims to deepen understanding of recovery experiences at the local level and to inform future efforts through the use of mapping tools and community-focused insights. Tasks Examining materials and information supplied. Designing a suitable research framework and strategy to guide the investigation. Carrying out research activities that incorporate journey mapping and systems mapping, along with identifying obstacles and challenges in the recovery process. Interpreting and integrating research results to extract meaningful insights. Compiling a summary of the findings in the form of a detailed research report. Experience & Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in social science, geography, environmental studies, climate change adaptation, disaster and emergency management, housing, public health, or a similar field. Experience with journey mapping research within the last 10 years. Experience with system mapping research within the last 10 years. A minimum of five years’ experience within the last 10 years conducting research on complex human social systems linked to recovery efforts following natural disasters, as a researcher in social science, disaster recovery or natural hazards. Experience within the last 5 years creating and implementing methods aimed at supporting and improving disaster recovery systems. Apply today!
