Technical Director

You will exercise Technical Leadership and oversee the successful implementation of Backbase products into systems of leading Banks and Financial Institutions all over the world. You will oversee a portfolio of projects, managing both your team results and client expectations. From kick-start sessions with clients and partners, where technical requirements are discussed, you will take the lead all the way to the moment the project is signed off. No matter who you talk to, you impress with your technical knowledge and compelling presentations. You’ll work in all stages of making customer-journey-driven architectures and designs production-ready. You take pride in over delivering. Your expert knowledge is always up to date; ● There are no secrets for you in the following: Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks, Spring, Maven & Jenkins, Java platform, JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns and principles of REST APIs, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices architecture; ● An additional bonus for us would be your experience with Portal/ Web Content Management and familiarity with architectural patterns such as Microservices, CQRS or event sourcing as well as experience with server virtualization and containers technology such as Docker, VMWare, HyperV. TEAM Role and Responsibilities People Management - Line manager of Technical CLs within the tribe Manage and mitigate technical risks in projects in the tribe Identify and drive technical improvements in the Tribe Participate on the BB Architecture Guild. Ensure strategy for Tribe projects is agreed with Technical Director (together with Tribe DM and Tribe Ops) and provide clear strategy technically to Projects (PM and tech leads) Help on the creation of teams Initial Project strategy-approach, First escalation point outside the squads. Escalation path to Technical Director Be part of the tribe leadership team, and participate in all the meetings required on tribe Leadership. Keeping Tribe Director / Tribe Leadership updated on people's status Keeping Tribe Director / Tribe Leadership updated on technical status Internal Sign off project / engagement Ensure technical solutions is correct for all engagements/projects in the tribe Alignment with Technical CLs Evaluate technical level of squads and escalate if necessary (to PM and Tribe Ops) Escalate any technical Risk to Technical Director and work on a mitigation plan Work with Technical Director on the alignment of projects with R&D Drive and maintain the OKrs for the Technical chapters within the tribe.
