About Beams At Beams, we’re transforming home renovation – making it simpler for homeowners and greener for the planet. We believe that renovating a home should be just as special as living in one. The process should be easy and exciting, not overwhelming. But today, home renovation is often complex, stressful, and full of uncertainty. That’s why we’re rethinking it from the ground up – using technology to match homeowners with the right plan, the right design, and the right people to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient renovations. Since launching in 2022, we’ve built an end-to-end service that guides homeowners through every step of the renovation journey, from planning to design to build. And because we believe the green choice should always be the easy choice, we’re helping people create more energy-efficient homes for a better future for all. At Beams, we move fast, challenge the status quo, and tackle big problems with bold ideas. We value action, simplicity, and positive energy, fostering a culture of openness and always doing the right thing—for homeowners, for builders, and for the planet. If you’re excited by the opportunity to reshape an industry and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you. About the role We’re solving high-impact, real-world challenges. Our roadmap includes: Building scalable, performant and engaging web applications for our customers, our builder network and our internal team. Developing agentic AI driven process automation to drive scale, improve sales conversion, reduce human error & costly delays and bring innovative experiences to our customers Providing secure payments to prevent fraud: financial transactions are core to every renovation so they must be transparent and secure, giving homeowners confidence and ensuring builders are paid fairly. Optimising supply chains and scheduling, simplifying procurement and cutting unnecessary transport emissions by ensuring the right materials arrive at the right time. To deliver this, and much more, we build scalable and resilient systems, using a modern tech stack that includes: Cloud-native and distributed systems development in AWS Microservices and event-driven architectures in Typescript and Python CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and a strong testing culture We move quickly and tackle real-world problems. As part of the team, you’ll own features from idea to production, working on end-to-end software development that directly impacts your teammates, homeowners, and builders. You’ll have the autonomy to make technical decisions and influence how we scale our systems as we grow. How you’ll grow We believe in investing in your development. At Beams, you’ll have access to: Mentorship and coaching from experienced engineers, helping you develop and refine your skills A clear career progression path towards mid-level and senior roles, with continuous support and guidance A learning budget for courses, books, and conferences, ensuring you stay up to date with the latest industry trends Opportunities to explore different areas of development including backend, frontend, DevOps, and architecture, so you can shape your own career path Who we are looking for You’re a software engineer who thrives in high-growth environments, loves solving complex problems, and enjoys collaborating with a diverse and driven team. Operationalising agentic AI and related tooling. If you don’t meet every qualification listed, don’t worry! At Beams, we value passion and potential over a perfect checklist.
