Data Privacy Officer London (Hybrid) Permanent Salary: 70-80K per Annum Job Summary A Data Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing and implementing a comprehensive data privacy program within an organization. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection laws and regulations, as well as strong project management and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures: Create and maintain policies and procedures that align with relevant data protection laws and regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Conduct data privacy assessments: Identify and assess data privacy risks throughout the organization, including data flows, storage, and processing. Manage data privacy projects: Oversee projects related to data privacy compliance, such as data breach response planning, privacy impact assessments (PIAs), and data retention policies. Provide data privacy training: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on data privacy best practices and compliance requirements. Manage data subject access requests (DSARs): Process and respond to DSARs in accordance with applicable laws. Coordinate with legal and IT teams: Collaborate with legal and IT teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Stay up to date on data privacy laws and regulations: Monitor changes in data privacy laws and regulations and update the organization's policies and procedures accordingly. Required Skills and Qualifications Deep understanding of data protection laws and regulations: A strong understanding of the GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data privacy laws. Project management skills: Ability to plan, organize, and execute data privacy projects effectively. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex data and identify potential data privacy risks. Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve data privacy issues. Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of IT systems and data management processes. Preferred Qualifications Certification in data privacy: Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) are preferred. Experience in a regulated industry: Experience in industries with strict data privacy requirements esp CPG.
