The Work Itself:

1. Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
2. Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements.
• Identifies and contributes to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance.
• Applies standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements.
• Collaborates with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products.
• Analyzes bugs for simple issues and applies debugging tools to verify assumptions.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications -5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications -6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD -Proven experience in designing & developing backend applications which are high-performing and distributed systems. -Proven expertise in following and developing within the Secure Software Development Life Cycle. Experience unit testing, performance testing. -Experience with CI/CD tools -Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Golang, and C++. -Solid understanding of blockchain technologies, DeFi protocols, security schemes, key management processes. -Experience in developing smart contracts for EVM-compatible blockchains. -Highly motivated and quick to learn new technologies to tackle complex challenges. -Background in payments and financial services is a plus. -Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership abilities, complemented by effective written and verbal communication skills -Strong capability to present complex concepts clearly and succinctly.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
