Job Title: Head of / Lead Infrastructure Engineer Location: London, UK Salary: £90k-£110k About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Head of / Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with extensive experience in managing both physical and virtual server environments, ensuring the resilience and reliability of critical systems. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting business operations through exceptional infrastructure management. Key Skills: Leading on big projects Being in a Lead/Manager/Head of role for 5 years Hands-on technical experience with SQL Server, Exchange, Azure, Linux, Windows etc. MS MVP (ideally) Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and develop the infrastructure team, providing technical mentorship and leadership across all infrastructure functions. Own and drive the overall infrastructure strategy, roadmap, and associated technology decisions to align with business objectives. Act as the technical authority for all infrastructure platforms, including servers, networking, cloud services, and on-premise systems. Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimisation of Windows and Linux systems. Manage and maintain physical server infrastructure and hardware components. Administer and optimise both Windows and Linux systems. Oversee MS Exchange Server operations, ensuring seamless communication across the business. Leverage Microsoft Azure for cloud infrastructure management, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. Manage SQL Server environments, focusing on replication, failover resilience, and database performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain secure and efficient infrastructure solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience in physical server management and hardware maintenance. Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration. Hands-on experience with MS Exchange Server. Solid knowledge of MS Azure cloud infrastructure. Expertise in SQL Server management, including replication and failover resilience. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Preferably a Microsoft MVP or equivalent recognition.
