2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Step into 3rd Line | Nottinghamshire | Hybrid Are you an experienced 2nd Line Engineer ready to take the next step towards 3rd Line? We're working with a growing, fast-paced tech business in Nottinghamshire that's looking for a client-focused IT Support Engineer to join their close-knit team. If you're keen to work across a variety of technologies, get involved in project work, and expand your technical capabilities – this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. This is a hybrid role, blending remote work with time at their offices and regular client visits across the East Midlands. It’s a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll be part of a collaborative team supporting a broad and interesting client base. What you'll be doing: Act as a key escalation point for 1st/2nd line tickets and take ownership of complex technical issues. Support and contribute to infrastructure upgrade and migration projects. Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive). Investigate and resolve networking issues (VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routing). Provide root cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes. Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and on-site support. Help maintain and develop internal documentation and knowledge sharing processes. Support occasional out-of-hours work for critical projects or support. What we're looking for: Solid experience in a 2nd Line Support or similar technical role. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support. Experience with Intune / Endpoint Manager and Windows Server environments. Familiar with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and modern workplace technologies. Confident with troubleshooting networking components (firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers). A natural problem-solver who’s keen to take on more responsibility and deepen technical skills. Excellent communication skills – you'll be client-facing and part of a team. A full UK driving licence and happy to travel to local client sites. Why this role? A brilliant stepping stone into 3rd Line and project-based work. Exposure to a wide range of technologies and real hands-on experience. Join a growing company where your ideas and input are genuinely valued. Supportive leadership, ongoing training, and clear routes for progression. Hybrid working with flexibility and variety day-to-day.
