Senior Software Engineer

We’re supporting a world-leader in blockchain media and market analytics. With 500 employees across the group, recent acquisitions have created a bunch of new projects, creating a need to expand their index calculation team in Central London. They’ve just moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Oxford Circus, and are now looking for a Senior NodeJS Engineer to join them. Please note - this role requires a minimum of 3 days a week on-site. This role is able to offer sponsorship for suitable candidates. What will you do? This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge solutions for cryptocurrency market data. You’d ensure the accuracy, scalability, and reliability of their calculation engines while working closely with product and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features.This role covers multiple projects, including new engine builds, existing system maintenance, as well as handling real-time streaming data to optimize performance standards. This is not a traditional NodeJS role; you will need to be technical, back-end oriented and very well-versed in back-end service/API development. What skills will you need? Proven experience in back-end service/API development, using NodeJS. Skilled in architecting complex and scalable solutions. Comfortable working with Unix-based systems for development and deployment. Proficient in using SQL databases for structured data handling and querying. Well-versed in utilizing NoSQL databases for scalable, unstructured data solutions. Keen DevSecOps mindset; including CI/CD, automated deployment, containerisation & secure coding. TDD driven, ability to write and run your own tests. Some experience with Redis/PostgreSQL or similar would be useful. Strong mathematical background or knowledge, particularly in numerical computations and algorithms, is a significant bonus. Knowledge, professional experience or interest in crypto/blockchain/financial markets. What do you get in return?
