What You’ll Be Doing Supporting and improving a globally distributed infrastructure estate with varied Linux systems (Debian/Ubuntu) Managing live database systems (MySQL/MongoDB), backups, and performance tuning Troubleshooting day-to-day technical issues — expect some days to be quiet and others to be all-hands-on-deck Working alongside sysadmins and software engineers on infrastructure enhancements and automation What You’ll Need Strong Linux command line and scripting experience (Bash, etc.) – 80% of your time Working knowledge of Windows environments – 20% Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) Experience with virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V) Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS essential; Azure/GCP a bonus) Nice to Have Experience with customer-facing deployments or upgrades Familiarity with PHP, Node.js, Python, Java, or JavaScript from an infrastructure perspective Awareness of compliance, security policies, and access controls Any exposure to Site24x7, LDAP, WSUS, or Active Directory Ability to work toward (or already hold) UK security clearance Why This Role Stands Out Impactful Work – The systems you’ll support help save lives and protect communities Career Growth – Work directly with a seasoned, high-performing lead who’s helped engineers launch international careers Real Challenge – You’ll gain experience across infrastructure, cloud, security, and systems in a genuinely complex environment
