Senior Full Stack Engineer – Ruby on Rails / React Remote-first (must be UK-based) £70,000 - £80,000 About the Role A fast-growing sports tech company is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails experience and solid React skills to help shape the future of their product platform. This is a remote-first role , ideal for engineers who want the flexibility of working from home while staying connected through occasional in-person team sessions (once a quarter in Edinburgh). As part of a small, collaborative product team, you’ll be building and improving features that serve a large and passionate user base. You’ll have a real voice in product direction, own technical decisions, and contribute directly to user success. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain robust backend services using Ruby on Rails . Develop dynamic, responsive user interfaces with React (and occasionally React Native). Work closely with Product, Design, and Customer Success teams to understand user needs and deliver impactful solutions. Lead and participate in architectural and strategic technical decisions. Write clean, maintainable code and clear technical documentation. Mentor junior engineers and support team growth. Take part in user conversations to inform development priorities. Continuously improve tools, processes, and performance through iteration and feedback. What We’re Looking For Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments. Proficiency with React (React Native is a plus). Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and own projects end-to-end. Comfortable translating technical goals into user-focused outcomes. Enthusiastic about collaborating with non-engineering teams and speaking with end users. A genuine interest in mentoring others and contributing to a positive engineering culture. Why Join?
