Their role is to support the physician during electrophysiology studies, ablation procedures, structural heart cases and the implantation of cardiac devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. They operate advanced equipment to monitor the heart's electrical activity and locate arrhythmia sources. They prepare and calibrate specialized equipment, such as cardiac mapping systems and X-ray fluoroscopy machines.
