Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/23/2025 Duration: 18 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: 4x12s Guaranteed Hours: 48/week Unit Overview: This is a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit with 10 L&D beds, 4 OB ED (triage) beds, and 4 antepartum rooms. The facility houses the only Level III NICU within a 350-mile radius, managing a wide spectrum of obstetric cases—from high-risk pregnancies to low-intervention labors. Patient Population: High- and low-risk laboring mothers Antepartum patients OB Triage/ED Postpartum/couplet care Newborns, including those requiring Level II nursery care Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Antepartum: 1:3 Inactive Labor: 1:2 Active Labor: 1:1 Postpartum/Couplet: 1:3 Requirements: Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience (required) BLS, NRP (required) ACLS, Inpatient OB, EFM, Antepartum certs (preferred) Comfortable with: IV starts, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate, blood administration Insulin management Circulating C-sections and post-op recovery care Caring for couplets and ideally Level II nursery babies Epic experience preferred Additional Details: First-time travelers accepted Floating required to postpartum/couplet care Orientation: 4 days with preceptor (3 in L&D, 1 in postpartum) Weekends: Every other Holidays: As needed Scrubs: Cobalt blue (provided) Free parking available Job ID 16518181 About Genie Healthcare Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
