Infrastructure Engineer – London, UK "Global Futures and Options Ltd (GFO-X)”, a UK FCA-authorised and regulated MTF, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in London, UK. GFO-X is the UK's first regulated and centrally cleared trading venue dedicated to digital asset derivatives. GFO-X has partnered with LCH SA which will offer clearing of Bitcoin index futures and options contracts traded on GFO-X. This will be made available through a new segregated clearing service, LCH DigitalAssetClear. GFO-X services large global institutional participants who require a regulated, institutional-grade trading venue for digital asset derivatives, including bitcoin index futures and options. The successful candidate will join the Infrastructure team, report to the Head of Infrastructure, work with developers and project stakeholders, and build the infrastructure for an institutional grade fully UK-regulated trading venue for digital asset futures and options. The successful candidate will join the Infrastructure team, reporting to the Infrastructure Team Lead, and will work with the project stakeholders to build and maintain the infrastructure necessary for an institutional-grade trading venue. Role Deployment and configuration of exchange infrastructure, including network and server hardware, Linux OS, database and other services, and the exchange applications Deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of the exchange monitoring platforms Support of the Trading Platform Support and Exchange Operations teams to assist in daily exchange operations and resolving operational issues Working with the Security team to implement corporate security policies to ensure our IT environments adhere to internal and industry-standard policies and practices Monitoring and improving the availability, resiliency, and performance of the exchange infrastructure. Monitoring platform capacity and identifying where we may have insufficient headroom Contributing to out-of-hours market rehearsals and test sessions Propose and lead projects that improve our test and production environments Create and maintain technical documentation Contribute to Exchange design and architecture discussions Work shifts and on-call as may be required Requirements At least 5 years of experience in administering and deploying Linux solutions in similar industries — ideally with experience in a high-frequency or market-making environment Practical exposure to Ansible, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools Experience with configuring and managing resilient, low-latency environments is particularly welcome Experience in deployment and operations of virtualization platforms including ESXi and Proxmox Demonstrable skills with orchestration and automation tools, including scripting languages such as Bash, and Python Experience with configuring Zabbix or similar monitoring platforms Experience with IPA or similar identity management platforms, including practical LDAP skills Intermediate understanding of networking infrastructure and in particular, multicast and high throughput, low jitter networks Hands-on experience with identifying and mitigating platform security issues and threats Very strong problem-solving skills and a sense of ownership of their domain Demonstrable continuous learning and acquisition of new skills Self-starter and independent, able to work within a team. Detail-oriented with a structured approach to managing workload Capable of interacting with different teams throughout the organization and with external clients to identify/resolve technical issues in a professional and effective manner Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for processes and systems Experience in proposing and evaluating new hardware and software solutions and their associated processes Strong command of spoken and written English This role is to be based at our London office.
