Head of Data Science & Analytics Location: Manchester or London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office) Salary: Up to £120,000 benefits The Company A global content powerhouse is building out a new analytics hub to redefine how millions engage with digital media. Operating across publishing, audio, and out-of-home channels, they produce content for some of the most recognisable consumer brands in the UK. With a large, complex dataset covering audience behaviour, advertising performance, and engagement trends, they’re now hiring a Head of Data Science & Analytics to lead this transformation. This is a rare opportunity to build a centre of excellence in a company where data will directly shape content, monetisation, and strategic direction. The Role As Head of Data Science & Analytics, you’ll lead the design and delivery of predictive models and insight strategies to optimise how the organisation engages with and monetises its audience. You’ll oversee a growing team working across digital analytics, revenue & inventory, and audience segmentation. You’ll act as both a strategic partner and technical authority—guiding product, editorial, and commercial teams while embedding scalable data science capability across the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers across multiple data domains. Define and implement best practice in analytics across product, digital, revenue, and audience insight. Oversee development of predictive and statistical models, particularly for inventory management, customer behaviour, and campaign optimisation. Build reusable frameworks for experimentation, pricing strategy, and content targeting. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure insights are actionable and embedded in key decisions. Support cultural and organisational change around data-driven decision-making. Own the analytics roadmap for the UK and support collaboration across European markets. Influence and advise at C-suite level, delivering insight that drives commercial performance. Skills & Experience Essential: 8 years in data science, analytics, or insight roles with demonstrable leadership. Strong background in SQL, A/B testing, and building statistical or predictive models. Experience leading cross-functional teams within product, content, or commercial analytics. Clear stakeholder management ability, especially in fast-moving environments. Proven track record of developing team members and embedding a strong data culture. Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable stories for non-technical audiences. Desirable: Media or digital content experience (publishing, audio, or entertainment sectors). Exposure to inventory or revenue optimisation, experimentation platforms, or audience segmentation. Background in applied analytics or consultancy-style analytics teams. Familiarity with modern tools such as Looker, Python, or R. Benefits Salary: Up to £120,000 Hybrid Working: 2 days per week in the Manchester office Impact: Build a best-in-class analytics function at a major consumer brand Flexibility: Work across product, audience, and commercial projects Visibility: Collaborate with C-suite and shape the business strategy at scale How to Apply Send your CV to Mohammed Buhariwala at Harnham using the Apply link on this page or connect directly to find out more.
