Overview

The D442 Wireless Systems Integration team is seeking an engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft and Linux scripting environments, along with knowledge of network infrastructure, to support ongoing and future deployments of secure wireless systems for the US Navy.

The engineer will be a key member of the development team, responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing current and next-generation wireless systems deployed on US Navy Submarines and Carriers. The role requires a strong security focus, a commitment to first-time quality, and effective communication with internal technical teams, EB management, and external customers.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and implementing network solutions to enhance current and future system designs in accordance with DoD standards.
  2. Developing an in-depth understanding of the network environment.
  3. Assisting in creating procedures for official documentation, such as Load Plans and Technical Manuals, for each network baseline.
  4. Collaborating with the System Engineering team to analyze the impact of new requirements on network baselines.
  5. Serving as the technical lead for validation efforts.
  6. Resolving shipboard issues and network faults identified via help desk tickets.
  7. Participating in external customer calls to discuss system design questions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Networks, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
  • At least 4 years of software development experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred:

  • DoD 8570.01M IAT Level 2 certifications.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Current DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Experience with APIs such as REST and Open APIs.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages like Java, Python, PowerShell.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and automation.
  • Experience with NSA CSfC program.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework.
