GPU Systems Software Engineer, Platform Architecture

Description

Apple’s Platform Architecture group is seeking talented engineers to develop high-performance functional models of advanced GPU designs. This role involves bridging the gap between software and hardware, influencing performance improvements and enhancing the programming ease of Apple products. Candidates should possess strong software engineering skills and a solid understanding of GPU architecture. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional hardware and software teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++/C and scripting skills (Python)
  • Background in low-level software development
  • Experience in developing and debugging large, complex system software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with parallel and concurrent programming
  • Understanding of modern GPU pipelines
  • Experience with GPU hardware
  • MS or higher degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Assembly language experience
  • Knowledge of ARM and/or x86 architectures
  • Experience programming modern graphics APIs (OpenGL, Direct3D, Metal, Vulkan, etc.)

Apple offers a competitive total compensation package, with base pay ranging from $143,100 to $264,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employees also have opportunities to participate in stock programs, receive comprehensive benefits, and pursue educational reimbursement. Additional bonuses, commissions, or relocation assistance may be available.
