Job details

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM
We are looking for Mid and Senior-level Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineers to join our team. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge simulation tools used by our engineering teams to model how our vehicles and systems perform in complex mission scenarios.

ABOUT THE JOB
The ideal candidate has experience working on aerospace systems and understands the right fidelity of system level modeling required to model large scale, many-on-many missions. The role requires the individual to be proficient in vehicle/sub-system modeling and well-versed in coding practices and software integration practices. If you have a passion for flight and like the idea of building a physics-based digital representation of air vehicles and payloads, this is the role for you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment across our portfolio of programs and products.
  • Develop our Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) framework to support mission-level concept exploration, tactics development, autonomous behaviors, and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) product development.
  • Develop simulation models for sensors, comms, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, electronic effects, command and control, and others.
  • Partner with Operations Analysis team members to deliver simulations capabilities that enable efficient Monte Carlo and Design of Experiments analysis.
  • Partner with capability teams like Mission Autonomy to deliver simulation capabilities to help accelerate development.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Senior Modeling Simulation Engineer: 8 or more years of experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis engineering or related technical experience.
  • Modeling Simulation Engineer: 3 or more years of experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis engineering or related technical experience.
  • Proficient with C++.
  • Working experience with Python.
  • Experience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (including fixed wing, rockets, satellites, rotorcraft, etc.) and/or subsea vehicles.
  • Experience in flight dynamics/platform physics and control.
  • Experience with high performance and multi-threaded programming.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced proficiency with C++.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with developing sub-system and system level models (air vehicles, ground vehicles, ground-based sensors and other types of complex systems).
  • Experience working with/developing multi-system mission level simulations in one or more domains (subsurface, surface, ground, air, and space).
  • Experience in military simulation fields delivering configurable scenario-based environments for operations analysis and wargaming (e.g., AFSIM, NGTS, etc.).
  • Startup experience.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including:

  • Platinum Healthcare Benefits: For U.S. roles, we offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost to you.
  • Basic Life/AD&D and long-term disability insurance 100% covered by Anduril, plus the option to purchase additional life insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Extremely generous company holiday calendar including a holiday hiatus in December, and highly competitive PTO plans.
  • 16 weeks of paid Caregiver & Wellness Leave to care for a family member, bond with your baby, or tend to your own medical condition.
  • Mental Health Resources: We provide free mental health resources 24/7 including therapy, life coaching, and more.
  • A professional development stipend is available to all Andurilians.
  • Daily Meals and Provisions: For many of our offices this means breakfast, lunch and fully stocked micro-kitchens.
  • Relocation assistance (depending on role eligibility).

Anduril is an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Anduril team is made up of incredibly talented and unique individuals, who together are disrupting industry norms by creating new paths towards the future of defense technology. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, Veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law, including those with a criminal history, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the CA Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
