Network Engineer - Top Secret or Q Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions, LLC is a contractor supporting the federal government, specializing in cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance. This position supports a contract with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA). The NNSA has multiple offices and facilities across the United States, including its headquarters in Washington D.C., responsible for nuclear security, stockpile management, and nonproliferation.

The Network Engineer Tier 2 will design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance network infrastructures. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure the scalability and reliability of the network, as well as managing ongoing upgrades and security improvements.

Clearance: Top Secret or Q

Location: Washington, DC

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures.
• Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade network systems.
• Ensure security and scalability of network operations.

Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret or Q security clearance.
• Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN configuration.
• Proficiency with Windows and Unix/Linux OS, network security, traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and systems hardening.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing protocols, and encryption protocols such as TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, NTP.

Compensation:

• Up to $150,000 annually, depending on experience; higher for Tier 3.
