Product Applications Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Product Applications Engineer (PAE) to join our dynamic team in San Jose, CA. In this customer-facing role, you will serve as the primary technical contact supporting pre-sales and post-sales activities, managing escalations from Tier 2 support, and driving customer satisfaction during pre-deployment and deployment phases.
You will work closely with fellow PAE team members, engineering, PLM, and marketing to resolve technical issues, validate new features, and provide customer feedback to influence product development.

ScreenBeam Inc. is the global leader in wireless presentation and collaboration device provider for the K-12 and Enterprise space. ScreenBeam solutions are used as the validation platform for wireless display functionality by companies like Microsoft, Intel, and leading PC OEM and device companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customer deployments from trial through implementation and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
- Provide technical support and best practices via phone, email, helpdesk, and on-site visits as necessary.
- Proactively engage customers with underperforming devices to optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform system-level debugging, and report the information for discussion with the Development team.
- Deliver training to internal staff, partners, and customers on deployment best practices and troubleshooting.
- Conduct technical demos and represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and events.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials and review technical documentation.
- Test and evaluate new product features, offering feedback to product and engineering teams
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Customer-centric mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with end-users, partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience with operating systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android; familiarity with ChromeOS or Linux is a plus.
- Understanding basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, DNS, etc.).
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, Firewall, Wi-Fi networks).
- Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IT or technical support roles.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a security background check.
- Physically able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Available to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the public sector (Enterprise, Education, or Healthcare IT).
- Knowledge of AV systems and commercial networked AV solutions.
- Background in firewall security, enterprise wireless networks, or group policy management.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CompTIA Network+).
- Familiarity with wireless network tools like Wireshark, Ekahau, etc.
- Multilingual: English plus Spanish, French, or German.
