We are seeking a dynamic Senior Business Analyst to serve as the lead BA within our Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). In this role, you will provide guidance and support to other Business Analysts and Project Managers, ensuring business needs are translated into actionable solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, document requirements, lead user testing, and support large-scale healthcare projects through the entire project lifecycle.
What You Will Do:
Serve as lead BA, mentoring and guiding other Business Analysts, and collaborating with Project Managers.
For smaller projects, assume project management responsibilities alongside BA functions.
Consult with internal and external clients to analyze procedures and identify/document opportunities for improvement.
Define business objectives and identify feasible technology solutions for future state processes.
Document current and future state workflows using process flow diagrams, ERDs, and flow charts.
Develop business cases, project scope documents, and technical specifications in collaboration with programmers.
Elicit, document, and organize business and functional requirements.
Coordinate project activities, including demos, testing, and feedback sessions.
Evaluate system/process changes for downstream and organizational impacts.
Track, prioritize, and resolve issues; escalate risks as needed.
Facilitate group meetings, provide agendas, and follow up with meeting minutes.
Participate in solution prototyping and user interface evaluations.
Define and validate performance expectations with business units.
Plan, coordinate, and perform user acceptance testing (UAT); log and track defects.
Provide regular project status, problem, and time reporting.
Foster positive relationships at all levels and serve as a mentor/coach for BAs and QAs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
You Will Be Successful If:
You deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
You have deep knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies.
You have proven experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and large project implementations.
You possess strong healthcare industry knowledge (Medi-Cal, Medicare, claims, eligibility, benefits, authorizations preferred).
You have experience creating and executing detailed test plans.
You are comfortable facilitating meetings and collaborating in small teams.
You are proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio); SQL knowledge for creating queries is a plus.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
6+ years’ experience as a business analyst.
Healthcare experience required; managed care experience preferred.
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) is a plus.
Significant experience with structured project management and SDLC environments.
Experience as a Business Analyst on large, complex enterprise projects is required.
