Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II acts as a senior technical resource and subject matter expert for the Department of Justice’s Firearms Systems. These systems include databases containing sensitive data, applications, gateways, and multi-system interfaces.
As a senior technical contributor, you will play a crucial role in the Firearms IT Modernization (FITSM) project. This involves analyzing existing legacy Firearms applications (primarily developed in Java), understanding their functionality, and translating this into system requirements for the modern FITSM solution. You will contribute to architectural decisions and collaborate with the System Integrator team to ensure quality and standards adherence.
This position requires strong analytical skills to independently and collaboratively address complex technical challenges, contributing significantly to the success of the FITSM initiative.
Required Qualifications:
Position is permanent with a monthly salary ranging from $8,374.00 to $11,220.00.
