SecuriGence, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chenega MIOS, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Melbourne, FL / Patrick SFB area. The Senior Software Engineer will be part of a dynamic team providing IT support, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure the secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of INL/A Management Information Systems. This role will support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office of Aviation (INL/A) in their missions to sustain national security and economic interests.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and support software, including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.
  2. Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project mission objectives and compliance standards.
  3. Resolve complex software-related issues associated with mission-critical government systems quickly and effectively.
  4. Support testing and deployment of new applications and features.
  5. Work with project managers to gather web application requirements, timelines, and milestones.
  6. Write code following industry best practices in accordance with FISMA guidelines.
  7. Schedule maintenance windows for deploying new versions, features, or bug fixes.
  8. Participate in the full agile development lifecycle for new applications, including design, construction, and testing.
  9. Travel may be required for special projects (CONUS, OCONUS).
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR
  • Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Proven ability to plan, accomplish goals, handle complex tasks, and consult on complex projects as a top contributor or specialist.
  • Experience providing operations and maintenance support to mission-critical systems.
  • Ability to work closely with customers and users to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with experience in documenting software projects and designing user-facing applications.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments and basic system administration.
  • Proficiency with .NET Framework, .NET Core, Docker, SQL, IIS, SharePoint, OpenID Connect, SAML, and web security.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with customers, understand requirements, and translate needs into actions.
  • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with SQL Server and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native principles, architectures, and tools such as AWS ECS, EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, GKE, etc.
  • Experience refactoring monolithic applications into microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
