The Role:

The Senior Software Robotics Engineer supports the adoption of Robotics Software Engineering within GM's Manufacturing IT organization, aiming to improve manufacturing productivity and efficiency.

This role involves identifying, evaluating, and adopting rapid, iterative robotics software solutions in collaboration with Junior and Staff Robotics Software Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering partners. The ideal candidate embraces, executes, and applies transformative robotic technologies, including simulation, ML/DL, computer vision, and delivering turnkey solutions.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Define and adopt GM MFG IT Robotics capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to update and streamline current GM Robotics Engineering processes with Manufacturing Engineering SMEs.
• Develop ML/DL solutions in real-world environments.
• Implement computer vision solutions.
• Design and deploy solutions based on research artifacts.
• Utilize simulation tools.
• Create data visualizations.
• Design solutions at scale to minimize operational overhead.
• Understand system interfaces to ensure solutions fit within constraints.
• Travel as needed to GM plants and facilities across the US.
