What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Software Architect. In this role, the Software Architect will provide architectural and technical guidance to a software engineering team responsible for delivering market-leading products. This position functions as a team leader alongside the Engineering Manager and Product Manager, interacting with a cross-functional team of architects, influencing technical direction, testing new technology, and identifying opportunities to accelerate and improve results. Strong interpersonal skills, expert technical knowledge, and good judgment are essential for success in this role.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with Product Management and Engineering Team leaders to understand requirements, objectives, and problems, and providing design and technical guidance on solutions.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to feature teams to ensure development aligns with the architectural roadmap. Researching, recommending, and implementing tools to improve efficiency.
• Helping development teams align their choices with a cohesive platform strategy.
• Mentoring developers to achieve high performance in software development practices.
• Researching emerging technologies to identify those with the greatest potential to improve efficiency and results, and assisting the team in planning transitions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related STEM field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development or a similar role within an engineering organization.
• Mentorship and/or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of .NET/C#, SQL Server, and Azure.
• Experience developing highly-scalable web applications.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Deep understanding of software design patterns and architectural patterns for reliability and scalability.
• Full-stack knowledge including microservices, containers, orchestration, databases, message queues, cloud-native applications, and UI frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of tailoring messages for technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable speaking to groups. Enthusiastic and professional demeanor.
• Technical curiosity and a passion for collaboration and innovation.
• Willingness to pair program, design collaboratively, and tackle complex problems from the start.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently to achieve results.
