ABOUT THIS ROLE
This opportunity is for a Software Development Manager who will manage and grow an engineering team for Audible’s Tools Engineering team. You will define, design and refine the tech that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. Anticipate. Innovate. Bring challenging ideas and we’ll support you with the latest tech, tools and systems that you need to succeed. You’ll drive the team forward, guiding them over every obstacle and leading the way to develop exciting, original and effective solutions.

Joining our team provides the unique challenge and opportunity to deliver software that improves developer efficiency for Audible engineers around the world. These systems are built using cutting edge technologies and products from AWS like Kinesis, S3, EMR, Elastic Search, Java, etc.
As a Software Development Manager, you will…
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading software development teams
- 5+ years experience of software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications
- 3+ years experience managing agile software projects across multiple and geographically distributed teams
- Business fluency in written and verbal English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building internal tools where engineers are your customers
- Expertise in a variety of technologies and platforms such as Java/J2EE
- Experience implementing solutions leveraging AWS capabilities
- Experience leveraging machine learning models to deliver insights and enrich customer experiences
- Be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment where change is the only constant
- Analytical skills and an out-of-the-box thinker
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment
- Experience defining and delivering cross functional solutions that are innovative and extensible
