We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Analyze PayPal’s compliance systems and algorithms and work side by side with product and engineering teams. Analyze software product requirements and transform them into scalable technical designs. Design and implement highly available and scalable back-end software components in Java. Consult with business teams on feasibility, technical requirements, and cost estimates for new initiatives. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality code to production in the Continuous Integration and delivery environment. Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams during feature integration. Research, analyze, design, develop, and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Triage and mitigate production issues. Provide effective cutting-edge design/solutions for implementing product features. Define and devise processes, tools, and methodologies to achieve excellence in software development, testing, and deployment, and in the management of the Centre. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Software design and development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Testing (1 year).

2. RDBMS concepts, SQL/No-SQL databases (1 year).

3. Object-oriented based design and development (1 year).

4. Database design, performance tuning, and optimization (1 year).

5. Enterprise architecture, software design, and implementation (1 year).

6. Data structures and algorithms (1 year).

7. Microservices design and implementation (1 year).

8. Systems/network design, systems performance tuning (1 year).

9. Backend development and deployment (1 year).

10. Experience with at least four of the following Software test technologies: Unit Test, Functional Test, Integration Test, E2E test, TestNG, Mockito, or PowerMock (1 year).

Salary: $172,931.00-234,300.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
