The TST Preventive Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of direct service staff to provide clinical and case management services to families with children who have been exposed to traumatic events and are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems as a result. The TST therapist works to strengthen the relationship between the child/ren and their caretakers and social environment with the goal of restoring safety, attachment and appropriate affect. The Supervisor works closely with their team, the Program Director and model consultant to ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with model fidelity and the standards of TST, ACS and SCO Family of Services. We offer strong supervision, robust professional development and the opportunity to learn Trauma Systems Therapy, an evidence-based model of practice.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Manage a team of 4 Therapists and 1 Case Aide to provide assessment, goal setting, interventions and case management to prevent foster care and promote wellbeing.
  2. Learn the TST practice model by participating in training, coaching and case consultation.
  3. Ensure staff fidelity to the TST model: Work within model structure regarding case contacts, interventions, supervision, documentation and length of treatment.
  4. Commit to becoming a TST expert through weekly meetings with the TST Consultant related to team leadership, supervision, model fidelity and training.
  5. Participate in weekly TST Team Meetings.
  6. Provide individual supervision.
  7. Ensure best practices by providing coaching, guidance, direction, support, assistance; and monitoring staff performance.
  8. Conduct and document monthly supervisory reviews of all cases.
  9. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner, FTC Facilitator and legal advocate.
  10. Support staff to assess safety and risk and implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed.
  11. Manage crises and provide case coverage as needed.
  12. Manage intake in absence of Program Director as requested.
  13. Ensure staff engage in professional development as required and indicated by learning needs and goals.
  14. Manage HR and performance improvement related processes with support of program director.
  15. Establish communities of care by building effective relationships with significant individuals and service providers in the neighborhoods where families live.
  16. Collaborate with the Family Team Conference (FTC) Facilitator and ensure Family Team Conferencing occurs and adheres to best practices; attend conferences when indicated.
  17. Collaborate with ACS Division of Child Protection and Family Court Legal Services to ensure staff attend child safety conferences and court hearings.
  18. Utilize strategies to incorporate family voice and value of racial equity in program.
  19. Utilize strategies to develop and maintain a trauma informed environment.
  20. Responsible for ensuring proper and timely utilization of all PROMIS, CONNECTIONS and TST related database systems and preparation and submission of data reports as applicable.
  21. Implement strategies to ensure staff maintain case record documentation in alignment with ACS, OCFS, TST and agency wide case record review standards.
  22. Review all assessments, progress notes, Family Assessment and Service Plans (FASPs), TST related documentation and monitor PROMIS data entries.
  23. Track Key Performance Indicators on quantitative and qualitative outcomes aligned with ACS and model expectations in collaboration with QI.
  24. Attend supervision and all necessary meetings and trainings.
  25. Participate in neighborhood-based activities and preventive related advocacy, work groups and coalitions as requested.
  26. Demonstrate strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
  27. Commit to being an active contributor to the vision and mission of the program.
  28. Work to create and support a respectful learning environment.
  29. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Master Degree in Social Work or related field with applicable license/limited permit or working towards license.
  2. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
  3. At least 3-5 years previous experience working in a child welfare context.
  4. Previous direct service work with families.
  5. Self-initiated, motivated and well-organized.
  6. Excellent writing and communication skills.
  7. Facility with OCFS & ACS data systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  8. Flexibility to work some evening hours to attend conferences, manage crises.

Salary: $75,000
