Risk & Compliance Lawyer

Our client , a fast-growing international organisation, are seeking an experienced Risk Manager (or Legal/Compliance professional with strong risk experience) to help design, implement, and embed its enterprise risk framework from the ground up on a part-time basis (3-4 days per week) for approx. 9-12 months. This is a unique opportunity to shape the risk culture of a business that is expanding rapidly and navigating the complexities of international operations. The role will work closely with the Internal Audit function reporting directly into Group Legal & Compliance. Key responsibilities: Develop and roll out a fit-for-purpose risk management framework. Embed a proactive risk culture across a fast-paced, evolving organisation. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and IA teams to ensure alignment with governance and controls. Identify and assess organisational risks in a construction/infrastructure-heavy context. Engage with stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies. Travel may be required depending on business needs. Ideal background: 10 years of experience in enterprise/operational risk, internal audit, or legal/compliance roles. Track record of building or transforming risk functions—particularly in international, complex, or high-growth businesses. Experience in construction, infrastructure, or capital projects environments (highly desirable). Strong understanding of enterprise risk management (ERM) principles. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable working independently in a newly maturing risk environment. This role would suit a seasoned risk professional, or someone from a legal/compliance background with a passion for shaping governance and risk frameworks.
