JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. *What You Will Do with JT4 * The Computer Scientist II will provide software and systems engineering support, typically as part of a collaborative team or project group. You will modify existing software baselines in addition to developing new ones for Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) data sets. *JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* * Collaborate regularly with customers to gather requirements and provide technical insight for current and future Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) data sets. * Develop code in C++ and C# for Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) data processing and display. * Analyze customer requirements and determine optimal programming approaches to address complex technical challenges * Assist in the design & architecture of software systems and produce associated design documentation * Code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards. * Translate system/software designs into functional code and/or hardware solutions, with appropriate documentation of implementation * Plan, develop, and test software, including unit, integration, and system-level validation for functionality and performance. * Support maintenance, troubleshooting, & sustainment of existing software suits and future development efforts Additional Strengths This role requires a solid foundation in computer science principles, analytical problem-solving, and strong communication skills to support technical development throughout the software/system lifecycle. With the potential to use PowerShell depending on the project requirements. Knowledge of TSPI data sets and previous programming using TSPI data is desired. *REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE* A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and either 2 years of related experience or a master's degree in an associated discipline are required for this position. In addition, a Computer Scientist II must possess the following qualifications: * Experience with computer-based systems and applications * Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks * Familiarity with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques * Familiarity with systems engineering and software development lifecycles * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Good planning/organizational skills * Ability to work under deadlines The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. *SALARY* The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $144,000 annually. *Note: *The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
