Tech Lead, Front-End| Digital Strategy & Transformation Location: Hybrid, London UK Join us at Merlin Entertainments as we transform the future of digital guest experiences across our iconic global attractions. We're seeking a talented Technical Lead to drive both strategy and delivery across enterprise-wide digital and commerce initiatives. About the role This is a high-impact position within the Digital & Data division, responsible for enabling secure, seamless, and scalable digital identity journeys across our global guest-facing platforms. You'll oversee strategic direction and translate technical strategy into business value, ensuring alignment between technology, operations, and customer experience. Leading the Front-end design and optimisation of digital and commerce technology solutions - from APIs to Front-End experiences. Responsibilities • Lead the Front-End design and optimisation of digital and commerce technology solutions - from APIs to front-end experiences • Hands-on Full-Stack development, design and review of solutions - with a focus on JavaScript (Angular) and API-first/headless architectures. • Build and integrate UI components that connect with back-end systems via Modern API's • Manage mission-critical systems with a focus on high availability, cloud reliability (Azure/AWS), and proactive risk mitigation • Translate technical strategy into business value, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring alignment between technology, operations, and customer experience Skills and Expertise • Technology leadership with strong hands-on capability in Front-End development (JavaScript, Angular). • Proven background in digital commerce platforms, building customer-facing solutions that are scalable, performant, and user-friendly. • Expertise in developing and integrating APIs, with a strong grasp of headless architecture principles. • Solid experience in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS) – not necessarily deep DevOps, but you understand how things should run at scale. • Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendors and delivery partners – from technical leadership to ensuring accountability. • Strong grasp of UI/UX principles, component-based architecture, and responsive design. • Comfortable balancing strategic direction and hands-on involvement, stepping in when needed to ensure engineering excellence Interview Process • Recruiter Call • Hiring Manager Intro • 1-2 stage Panel Interview Our recruitment process typically takes around 4-5 weeks, but we’re always happy to work around your availability.
