System Administrator – VMware & Automation Specialist (32373)

Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Systems Administrator - Virtual Infrastructure, for a long term HYBRID Contract. The successful candidate must currently posses a valid Government of Canada Security Clearance and the SECRET level. The candidate must demonstrate experience in VMware environments, infrastructure automation, and scripting to support a large-scale, multi-tiered production environment. The ideal candidate will bring both independent and collaborative experience in designing and supporting infrastructure-as-code solutions in a 24/7/365 setting. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support VMware vSphere 8.x , including VSAN , NSX-T , SRM , and EMC RP4VM Work with VMware vRealize/Aria Orchestration & Automation , Ansible Tower , and Azure DevOps Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell , Python , or similar scripting languages Deploy and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Ansible , Terraform , and Azure Provide system administration support, especially with VxRail , VSAN , and Dell PowerEdge infrastructure Participate in technical decision-making and ensure stability in a high-availability, large-scale environment Work independently or collaboratively in cross-functional teams Required Qualifications & Skills: 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere 8.x and associated technologies Proven experience scripting and developing automation/orchestration solutions Demonstrated expertise in system administration and infrastructure management Experience supporting enterprise environments with 24/7/365 uptime requirements Strong problem-solving and communication skills Additional Qualifications (Assets): ITIL , TOGAF , or Agile certifications
