Senior DevOps Engineer - Build a new team

Nixor are hiring for a Leading Energy providor as they launch a brand new DevOps capability within Quant Engineering, and therefore need an Microsoft stack (C#, Azure etc) focused Senior DevOps Engineer to kick things off. This is your chance to shape an entire DevOps function , set best practices, and lead the charge in automating every aspect of the software development life cycle—from development to deployment, testing, and monitoring. Hands-On Leadership – Lead automation efforts while mentoring software engineers, testers, and infrastructure teams. What You’ll Be Doing Automate and streamline the entire development pipeline—CI/CD, testing, deployments, and monitoring. Collaborate with software engineers to build templated DevOps solutions across different languages and platforms. Work closely with our Platform Operations, SecOps, and Test Teams to create fully automated, secure, and scalable environments. Lead and manage an offshore team developing middleware APIs to monitor system health. Engage with our growing community of Python and Machine Learning developers, promoting best practices. What You Bring Former Software Engineer or strong understanding of OOP. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud automation (Azure preferred). Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes (desirable), Terraform (desirable), Git, and monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, or Application Insights). Proficiency in scripting, ideally with PowerShell and Python. Strong communication skills—able to influence, mentor, and challenge the status quo.
