IT Controls Tester

IT Controls Tester Contract Opportunity Location: Central London (Hybrid, 34 days/week in office) Start Date: ASAP (July/August) Duration: 6 months Rate: Up to £500/day inside IR35 We are working with a leading UK financial institution to source two experienced IT Controls Testers to support a major controls transformation programme. This is a client-facing, hands-on testing role focusing on IT controls related to perimeter, resilience, data, and business services . Key Responsibilities: Review and analyse IT control documentation (procedures, workflows, policies). Execute control walkthroughs and develop detailed test plans. Align test plans with control owners and conduct full testing (TOD/TOE). Document results, perform quality checks, and track closure progress. Provide optional remediation support where failures are identified. Skills & Experience: Strong background in IT domain , control frameworks, and regulatory standards (e.g. NIST, PS21/3, COBIT, DORA ). CISA certification preferred. Proven ability to manage end-to-end IT controls testing independently. Confident engaging with stakeholders across risk, control, and governance teams. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Soft Skills: Assertive and client-facing professional. Strong communicator, capable of managing relationships with multiple risk stakeholders. Analytical, methodical, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
