The Systems Engineer will research, analyze, assess, and recommend resolutions for technical and supportability software deficiencies revealed in B-1 operational service. This effort shall include technical analysis and assessment of software developed by the Government Prime Integrator, Boeing Co., to include development of tests and recommendations to mitigate software issues, deficiencies, or anomalies that may occur on or off aircraft during software development, laboratory testing, and modifications associated with both RDT&E and sustainment activities. This effort shall include developing recommendations related to the Government Prime Integrator’s block cycle software development, modification, and sustainment utilizing an Agile framework and focusing specifically on Software Blocks (SBs) and Agile Software Releases (ASRs). Specific systems, Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs), and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) that may require engineering support include Avionics Flight Software (AFS), Graphic Controller Software (GCS), Communication Navigation Mission System (CNMS), Central Integrated Test System (CITS), Electrical Multiplex System (EMUX), Integrated Data Acquisition and Recording System Refresh (IDARS), Vertical Situation Display Upgrade (VSDU), Fully Integrated Data Link (FIDL), Multi-functional Information Distribution System (MIDS)/Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) Mode 5/S, Mass Storage System Replacement (MSSR), Tactical Display Subsystem (TDSS), Main Loader (ML) and Dual Boot Loader (DBL), Crypto/Radio, Other emerging or future systems. Responsibilities Review, analyze and recommend solutions with regards to Prime Integrator's software requirements and design documentation Review, analyze and provide oversight of Prime Integrator's software test plans, procedures and execution Review and provide recommendations with regards to Prime Integrator's software and hardware requirements traceability for contracted changes Supply engineering and technical expertise to the customer on all matters concerning Agile Software Releases (ASR) updates to include any future upgrades to the B-1B Aircraft Avionics Systems (AAS). Provide inputs on tasks completed or in-work to SAIC Program Manager for monthly status reports to the customer This position is responsible for the overall quality of work performed by the contractor, including the preparation of milestone charts, and other production status reports to ensure compliance with delivery schedules. Required Qualifications: Bachelors in Software or Systems Engineering and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters Software or Systems Engineering and seven (7) years or more experience; Minimum three (5) years' experience working with military aircraft systems and software. Active Secret Clearance Experience with C++, Ada, and XML code is highly desired Working knowledge of the Agile software development process, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Familiarity with Confluence and Jira Boolean logic, data flow and logic diagrams Familiarity with Technical Orders Flight Manuals and/or Maintenance Manuals (Job Guides).
