We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic Asset Management technology team. You will be responsible for driving business and technical analysis across a range of strategic change initiatives, working closely with stakeholders, cross-functional Agile teams, and data engineering teams to deliver impactful technology solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of financial data, asset management operations, and a solid technical background in data tools such as SQL, Power Apps, and Snowflake. You will also be expected to demonstrate excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills. Day rate: £700pd via an Umbrella set up Location: Central London Duration: 6 months Key Responsibilities: Elicit and document detailed business and functional requirements using interviews, workshops, document analysis, and workflow/process analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria. Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable user stories and features. Partner with Project Managers or operate in a hybrid BA/PM capacity to ensure timely and transparent project delivery updates. Support Agile delivery teams through backlog grooming, sprint planning, testing, and implementation activities. Use SQL, Power Apps, and other data tools to analyse and manipulate datasets, providing clear technical specifications to data engineers. Document current state and target state data architectures and flows, including engagements with external partners Determine the downstream impacts on systems like FactSet and Client Reporting, ensuring full traceability and alignment. Create technical documentation and user stories within SDLC tools such as Azure DevOps. Contribute to data modelling and architecture planning using tools such as LucidCharts, MS Loop, and MS Teams. Support test planning and execution; validate solutions meet business needs and document results. Engage in continuous process improvement, identifying and implementing enhancements to analysis and delivery practices. Collaborate with the wider Business Analysis team to share knowledge, tools, and standards. Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within asset management. Solid understanding of asset management functions, including fund static data, ABOR, and trade data. Strong analytical and technical skills, particularly in: SQL (writing queries, data extraction and manipulation) Microsoft Excel (advanced) Power Apps Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses Data modelling and architecture documentation Experience in Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, LucidCharts, MS Teams, and MS Loop. Ability to operate across both business and technical domains and to communicate complex concepts clearly to different audiences. Experience gathering requirements and delivering change in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Self-starter with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Experience with Python is desirable.
