Forward Deployed Software Engineer / Solutions Engineer - Hypergrowth Voice AI Startup
Redwood City, CA (5 days/week)
The company seeks engineers who are eager to work 5 days/week in the office in a hardworking, highly collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
The company's product involves voice AI, conversational AI, and developer tools.
The company's founding team is comprised of experts from leading companies including Meta and Google.
The company has achieved very strong revenues within 12 months of founding, and revenues are rapidly growing.
The company has 7 employees and seeks to hire 5 engineers as soon as possible. They expect to have 25 employees within the next year.
The company will pay salary up to $300k, plus equity (roughly 1% of the company) which could be very lucrative.
Job responsibilities:
- Working with the tech stack of: Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, React.
- You could spend anywhere from 50-100% of your time on backend engineering, and 0-50% on front end engineering.
- Building solutions for customers.
- 25% of the time will be talking to customers, 75% of the time will be building for customers.
- Working closely with sales and product teams to drive successful deals and customer outcomes, ultimately increasing the number of enterprise customers.
- Executing enterprise customer requests to customize the product for their specific domain, building trust and collaboration with key technical stakeholders, and driving successful completion of engagements.
- Identifying, building, and shipping product feature requests from enterprise customers.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of professional experience.
- A Founder mindset.
- Strong work ethic and fine working 50-60 hours/week.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with empathy and a friendly personality.
- Comfortable working with both sales and engineering colleagues.
- Sense of urgency and ownership to do whatever it takes to deliver projects on-time.
- A growth mindset with a love of learning, with strong adaptability in any setting.
- Knowledge of the latest technology trends, with understanding of a range of technical and non-technical tools.
- Programming language agnostic and interested/able to learn and use new technologies as needed. Experience with any of these would be nice: Node.js, TypeScript, Python, C++, Java, C#, Go, Ruby, or PHP.
Nice to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a highly ranked university.
- Experience building AI products.
- Next.js, Node.js.
- Experience from fast-growing startups or top tech companies.
