The main purpose of this hire if due to expansion and innovation across the business as it grows into different avenue streams and industries. They are looking to hire a junior to mid level engineer who has current experience working in a professional setting as an Embedded Software Engineer. There will be plenty of room for further development working alongside lead engineers within the department and collaborating on new innovative projects as well as long standing client relationships. Based in Wakefield, they are looking for engineers to have a office based first approach to working however they can show flexibility for the right person, however a more junior engineer would benefit from being in and around the office with peers. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities: Design and develop embedded software for hardware platforms Real-time operating systems (RTOS) for ARM based micro-processors Skills needed to be successful: Fundamental experience of programming in C, with real-time operating systems (RTOS) experience Familiarity with embedded development tools, IDEs, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
